Ankit Arora:
Ankit is the founder of Vastradaan. He lives in Mumbai and seeks opportunity to help the poor. He is a software consultant during weekdays and a social entrepreneur during weekends. He loves to meet new people and to learn about new business ideas. He looks at the overall working of the organization. He keeps track of the clothes collected and distributed.

Ketan Sharma:
Ketan is the co-founder of Vastradaan. He lives in Mumbai. He has a lot of exposure to indian startups. During weekdays Ketan works in the capacity of senior software analyst. He seeks new areas in Mumbai where clothes can be donated. He keeps track of any technical issues with the site and provides editing service for writing articles.

Ankit Vivek:
Ankit is the co-founder of Vastradaan. He is currently an MBA student and pursuing his Master's in Marketing. He assists Vastradaan by providing insight about how to advertise and market Vastradaan's efforts. He takes care of the marketing of the organization. He operates in north India.

Akansha Arora:

Akansha is the co-founder of Vastradaan. She is currently a student of Computer engineering. Akansha has a great sense of poetry and she blogs at her blog http://www.arorakansha.blogspot.com She works to promote Vastradaan's efforts in north India.

As we are a comparatively new organization ( estb. 20- June-2008), we really need help to promote our initiatives. You can help us in several ways. You can blog about us on your blog and spread awareness about our activities. You can inform your friends who may be interested in joining us. You can StumbleUpon, Digg or spread awareness about our initiatives by using social networking sites like facebook, orkut, myspace, ibibo, bebo etc. You can add our site to various directories.
Or, you can use your own creativity to help us in any way you wish.

Tracking progress:
From time to time, we would be publishing the details of clothes collected and distributed over a period of time.

Eligibility:

Anyone who has no hesitation asking for old clothes from his/her neighbours, who has the drive to help the poor.

What will you earn by joining us ?

As mentioned above, we are a Not-for-profit Organization. All the members of VastraDaan are on volunteer basis only.
What you’ll earn from VastraDaan is a boost to your Self-esteem and Goodwill of all those needy poor people whom your collected clothes will help.
As you become our member and do the activities, we will feature you on this site so that your good work gets noticed by rest of the world !

How we operate ?

We operate in small groups from multiple locations. We form groups of 2-3 people, and such small groups visit areas in their locality, collecting old clothes from People.
As most of the members work full time in their cos from Mon to Fri, they take out time for this noble cause on weekends.

About VastraDaan

VastraDaan is a not-for-profit organization based out of Mumbai, India. VastraDaan is our initiative to help the poor people.

VastraDaan, is a hindi term meaning Cloth Donation. India is a developing nation where millions live under the line of poverty. The contrast is infact more noticeable in metros like Mumbai and Delhi where on one hand, people spend lavishly in Malls and on the other hand, people cook their meals under a bridge opposite to Malls !

VatraDaan aims to use the waste (Old clothes) and help the needy.
